Rhinoplasty is a plastic surgery procedure used to improve the appearance and/or functionality of the nose. By surgically altering the bone, soft tissue, and cartilage of the nose, Dr. Kornstein can enhance proportions and correct obstructed breathing.
Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, offers both aesthetic and functional benefits:
By reshaping the nose, rhinoplasty can improve facial symmetry and balance, leading to a more harmonious appearance.
Achieving a desired nasal appearance can significantly enhance self-esteem and confidence.
Rhinoplasty can correct structural issues such as a deviated septum, leading to better airflow and reduced breathing difficulties.
Addressing nasal obstructions can reduce snoring and mitigate sleep apnea symptoms, contributing to better sleep quality.

Rhinoplasty is performed under anesthesia, ensuring that patients feel no pain during the surgery. A degree of post-operative pain or discomfort may be felt, but this is quite manageable with prescribed pain medication.
The surgery typically takes one to three hours, depending on the complexity of the procedure.
Open rhinoplasty involves an external incision on the columella, followed by lifting of the skin of the nose. This allows for better visibility and increased access to nasal structures. Closed rhinoplasty involves tiny incisions inside the nostrils, resulting in less visible post-surgical marks and a quicker recovery.
After open rhinoplasty, a scar may be present, but it will be well-camouflaged. With proper care, scars from rhinoplasty fade over time.
Most patients can resume light activities within a week and return to work in 10–14 days. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least 4–6 weeks.
